Alcoholism is gender-blind, but the research on the subject has not been. Most of the studies published on alcoholism have been about men. Yet, men and women are introduced to alcohol under different circumstances, choose to drink for different reasons and become addicted in different ways.

Volume One: The Female Alcoholic is the first of a five volume series that provides information that is important in the treatment of female alcoholics and answers questions on:

	how alcohol affects the female body,
	how women begin drinking, how they become addicted to alcohol, and
	how the stages of alcoholism progresses in women in contrast to men.

Volume Two: Counseling The Female Alcoholic is the second book of a five volume series on female alcoholism. Volume Two examines:

	diagnostic criteria,
	intervention strategies,
	the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client, and
	the obstacles to sobriety for female alcoholics.
