purposes only, and not intended to replace a formal instructional
program. The booklets were made by children, for children.
Permission is hereby granted to individual parents, teachers, Girl Scouts, Girl Scout Leaders, or anyone working with children, to reproduce the activities, for non-commercial, instructional use only. The booklets were created by Temecula Girl Scout Troop 937 for educators, parents, and Girl Scout Leaders to use with K-5th grade students. These easily reproducible materials can be used in a variety of ways to teach children how to make good choices when pressured by peers to drink, smoke, use drugs, steal, cheat, bully or lie. Included in the kit are activities that encourage children to develop good eating habits and follow an exercise program. Internet safety is also addressed, as well as the importance of talking to parents and other trusted adults about making smart choices. |

The booklets were created as part of a Girl Scout Silver Award Project, the highest honor for a Cadette or Studio 2B girl, age 11-14. Ashlynne, an 8th grader, took charge as the project manager and worked with each of the girls in the troop on different sections of the booklets. Madeline, a 3rd grader, and Savanna, a 5th grader, designed the title pages with Ashlynne, for each section of the booklets. Jessica, a 7th grader, and Celeste, a 6th grader, worked with Ashlynne on the Education section. Celeste and Ashlynne also worked on the Activities section together, while Ashley, another 8th grader, worked with Ashlynne on the Stories section. Jamie, a 5th grader, and Caylie, a 4th grader, worked with Celeste and Ashlynne on the Games section. Finally, Savanna drew the pictures for the Coloring Book section and Ashlynne wrote the story with her. |
